Maloney Home Page  |  Christina and Aaron Wedding Pictures

At the end of August 2003, I went to New Jersey with Craig and Sara and several other MicroCHIPSers to see our friend Christina get married. Here are some pictures from that weekend.

It was cloudy and raining when Sara picked me up on Saturday. She was worried about the brakes on her Saab, so Craig was going to drive us to New Jersey.

Craig's new home looked great!

Giving the grand tour...

...but still working out which switches control what. We discovered that the entire place is equipped with romantic mood lighting for the pleasure of female guests.

Craig's plumbing is fully certified and ready for inspection at any time.

Traffic was pretty heavy around the Tappan Zee Bridge, constructed in 1952-1955 and now being renovated.

"Smirking man makes poor navigator."

We stopped for lunch at New Taste in Chestnut Ridge, New York.

Sara and Craig and I had decided to share a hotel room for comedic purposes. Here I am getting ready for the wedding while Sara showers.

Craig and I were 110% prepared to work 200% to make sure Sara was properly escorted that night.

After some champagne, we sat down for the ceremony.  Stephanie and Scott had also driven down from Boston that day...

...and Rachel and Steve were there too!

The ceremony and blessings were given (sometimes in unison) by a monsignor and a rabbi, so we were pretty sure this marriage would be OK.  We adjourned to the reception area to utilize the bar and hors d'oeuvres.

We were having a great time.

Brenda and Jim were loads of fun, as always.

Sara and Stephanie set new standards for loveliness.

Overall, the reception was a real blast, rating a 7 on the Jim Prescott Perspiration Scale.

Craig generously let me take Sara out for the last dance of the evening.

Congratulations Christina and Aaron!

After the reception ended, we reconvened at the hotel bar for a nightcap or four.

Here's the obligatory Sara sandwich shot.  Shout outs!

Even though it was late, Craig kept us entertained for hours by making puppets out of simple, everyday objects.

Our first attempt at setting up Sara's rollaway didn't work out quite right.

We finally found a good spot where she could block both the bathroom and our only fire exit.

Next we changed out of our formal clothes and revealed our vulnerable sides.  This is the "inner beauty" shot.

Switching glasses is like switching personalities!

The next morning, we made a quick stop for breakfast before hitting the road.  Sara and Craig had to be back to Boston by noon for other weekend activities.

Driving back over the the Tappan Zee on a beautiful morning.

Epilogue: Sara spent the rest of the weekend shopping for flowers and doing other feminine activities to counteract the John and Craig total-immersion man-experience.
